Ruchika Singhal is the Vice President of Global Health & Medtronic Labs, an internal business within Medtronic with the mission to expand access to healthcare for underserved patients, families and communities across the world.

Prior to this role, she worked at CR Bard as Vice President, International with responsibility for driving growth of hernia & biosurgery products in international markets. Previously, she worked at Medtronic for fourteen years in various roles across Strategy, International Market Development, Marketing and New Product Development. Daniel McCarthy

Daniel McCarthy is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business. His research specialty is the application of leading-edge statistical methodology to contemporary empirical marketing problems. His research interests include customer lifetime value, missing data problems, and the marketing/finance interface.

His research specialty is “customer-based corporate valuation,” a methodology for valuing companies from the “bottom up” by predicting what those companies’ customers will do in the future. His work has been featured in major media outlets such as the Harvard Business Review, Wall Street Journal, FT, Fortune, Barron’s, Inc Magazine, the Economist, and CNBC. His research has been accepted and published in top-tier academic journals and has won numerous research awards.

In addition to his roles and responsibilities at Emory, Dan co-founded and was Chief Statistician for Zodiac, a predictive customer analytics SaaS firm. Nike acquired Zodiac in March 2018. Dan has since co-founded Theta Equity Partners to revolutionize how firms (e.g., private equity, venture capital, and operating companies directly) value companies through customer-based corporate valuation.

Yana Kakar is the Global Managing Partner of Dalberg Advisors, an impact-driven firm with offices in over 20 countries worldwide that provides strategy, investment, research, data analytics and design services to clients across the public, private and philanthropic sectors.

Yana specializes in sustainable, responsible and impact investing. She works with capital allocators, investors, and managers across asset classes to analyze markets, develop and diligence deal pipeline, design innovative financing instruments, structure funds and facilities, and conduct other transaction and post-transaction activities. Yana’s investment advisory maximizes for both financial and social return, with an emphasis on inclusion and empowerment. For instance, Yana collaborated with a leading global investment bank to create a facility that has now invested more than $1 billion in women entrepreneurs in emerging markets, she supported the President of a multilateral development finance institution in developing a $5B investment fund and strategy to stimulate youth employment and entrepreneurship, and she is currently working with a consortium of foundations to execute and evaluate the world’s first education development impact bond, targeting girls in hard to reach communities in India. Yana is also active in ecosystem building and market development efforts. Under her leadership and in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Canadian government, Dalberg designed and incubated Convergence, a non-profit organization and online platform that enables blended finance transactions towards the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, she is a member of the Global Impact Investing Network, serves on the Frontier Markets Council of the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association and is part of their ESG investing community.

In 2018, Yana was appointed by the President of the African Development Bank to the Presidential Youth Advisory Group. Hadiyah Mujhid

Hadiyah Mujhid is the Founder and CEO of HBCUvc, a nonprofit organization that educates and trains black and Latinx populations in technology entrepreneurship and venture capital to create racially equitable economies. The organization runs a fellowship at black and Hispanic universities where Fellows activate their campus ecosystems by hosting entrepreneurial events and providing access to capital. HBCUvc is a Kauffman Inclusion Open Grant recipient. Previously, Hadiyah co-founded nonprofit Black Founders where she created the first hackathon program for black colleges and led a national conference tour for black tech entrepreneurs.

Hadiyah is a strong advocate for leveraging technology and entrepreneurship to address economic inequality. With 15 years of software engineering experience, Hadiyah has developed flight system software for satellites and communication tools for naval ships. She shares her experience with others through mentorship and teaching (Hackbright Academy, Delaware State University Android Boot Camp). She’s also written and spoken on the topics of diversity and inclusion, technology entrepreneurship, and software engineering.

Her work has been recognized in Forbes, Blavity, TechCrunch, Business Insider, Black Enterprise, and Handelsblatt. She is a 2018 SOCAP Scholar and 2018 Essence Magazine 100 Most Woke Women. Hadiyah received her MBA with from Drexel University and a BS in Computer Science from University of Maryland Eastern Shore, a historically black university.

William W. Towns, Ph.D., MBA, is a scholar, activist and practitioner, dedicated
to helping solve civic and urban issues at the structural level. William is the
Executive Director of Benefit Chicago, a collaboration between The Chicago
Community Trust, The MacArthur Foundation, and Calvert Impact Capital, to
mobilize $100 million in impact investments targeting the social enterprise sector
in the Chicago region.

He came to Benefit Chicago from the University of Chicago, where he was an
Assistant Vice President and led the Office of Civic Engagement’s Anchor
Strategy, which looked to understand how a university could support equitable
economic change.

Dr. Towns serves on numerous boards and committees, within the housing, health
care, banking and education sectors, including an appointment by Mayor Rahm
Emmanuel to the Chicago Community Land Trust Board and an appointment to
the Advisory Council on Agriculture, Small Business and Labor for the Federal
Reserve Bank of Chicago. He is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from impact
investing, corporate social innovation, women in the work place and civic
engagement.

He received a BA from Loyola University Chicago, an MBA from the University
of Notre Dame, and a Ph.D., from Benedictine University, where his research in
the field of organizational psychology focused on corporate social innovation.

Tom is a Managing Director of Cambridge Associates, based in the Arlington, VA office. He advises institutions and families and builds investment portfolios designed to meet financial and impact objectives. Tom is a founding member of Cambridge’s Mission-Related Investing (MRI) Practice, a global team that partners with clients to build investment programs that support our communities, environment, and social compact. Beyond portfolio management, Tom also engages in research, writing, and learning with the larger community of impact investors.

Tom has over twenty years of experience in impact and financial sectors, the last eleven of which have been with Cambridge Associates. He joined the firm after completing his graduate studies in business and planning. During this time he was also an analyst with Agora Partnerships, focused on making venture investments with impact entrepreneurs in Central America.

Previously, Tom consulted to the World Bank in Brazil on education investments, spent four years as the Director of Program Development for the nonprofit, KaBOOM!. helped launch the ZOOB play system from start-up stage, served two years as a Team Leader in AmeriCorps NCCC, and began his career in technology marketing.

Tom earned an MBA from Duke University, where he was a CASE Scholar, a Master of Regional Planning (MRP) from UNC Chapel Hill, and a BA from Stanford University.
