Dr Joshua Broggi is an academic and the founder of Woolf, which is building the first blockchain-powered university.
At the University of Oxford, Dr Joshua Broggi is a member of the Faculty of Philosophy, a member of the Faculty of Theology and Religion, and a member of Wolfson College. He is also a member of the Congregation, the governing parliament of the University of Oxford, and has been involved in The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities.
Joshua holds an Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship from the German government, and in that capacity he is currently a guest of the Institut für Philosophie at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Joshua is presently writing a book about the (contentious) idea of historical progress. He is interested in the difficulty of formulating falsifiable metrics for progress in the humanities. Joshua has taught the history of philosophy from Plato to the present, but he concentrates on Kant, Hegel, and Nietzsche. He values simplicity of language and logical rigour when treating these figures. With the help of talented colleagues, Joshua wrote the white paper and founded Woolf.
