Jost retired as the Robert L. Willett Family Professorship of Law at the Washington and Lee University School of Law. He is a co-author of a casebook, Health Law, used widely throughout the United States in teaching health law, and of a treatise and hornbook by the same name. He is also the author of Health Care Coverage Determinations: An International Comparative Study; Disentitlement? The Threats Facing our Public Health Care Programs and a Rights-Based Response; and Readings in Comparative Health Law and Bioethics, the second edition of which appeared this spring.
He has also written numerous articles and book chapters on health care regulation and comparative health law and policy, and has lectured on health law topics throughout the world. His most recent book is Health Care at Risk: A Critique of the Consumer-Driven Movement, which was published by Duke University Press in 2007.

Matt Gold is an Adjunct Professor of Law teaching International Trade Law. He is also a consultant advising U.S. businesses on the United States’ rights under international trade treaties to protect U.S. investments in foreign countries, and to ensure access for U.S. goods and services to foreign markets. Professor Gold has been consulted by the White House, National Security Council staff, State Department, and members of Congress on issues at the intersection of trade and national security, and he assisted President Obama’s reelection campaign in the area of trade policy.
Professor Gold previously held an appointment within the Executive Office of the President as the Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for North America, in which he was the United States’ lead negotiator and policy advisor focused on North American trade. In that capacity, he was a trade advisor to the President for the North American Leaders Summit, and among the trade advisors supporting the President for G8, G20, APEC, and Americas summits. Also in that position, he was a participant in the talks that brought Canada and Mexico into the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations, a principal negotiator at the NAFTA Free Trade Commission meetings, and the Chairman of the U.S. Delegation to the U.S.-Canada Softwood Lumber talks.
Professor Gold began his legal career with a federal clerkship in Chicago in 1985-86. He then practiced international trade and customs law in New York for more than fifteen years representing U.S. clients in every sector engaged in trade with every part of the world. Also during that period, he served as the Chairman of the U.S.-Middle East Trade Subcommittee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
In 2001-02, Professor Gold served as the Chairman of a United States-Canada Binational Panel convened under NAFTA to stand in place of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and rule on a Canadian appeal of a U.S. International Trade Commission determination that had maintained U.S. antidumping duties and countervailing duties on certain Canadian goods.
In 2001-03, Professor Gold served as the first Chairman of the Cargo Security Subcommittee of the American Association of Exporters and Importers, working with the U.S. cargo security rules developed for the post-9/11 environment.
During 2003-10, Professor Gold served three civilian tours in Iraq working in the trade capacity component of democracy building. In this work, he advised Iraq’s Prime Minister, Trade Minister, Transportation Minister, Director General for International Trade Relations, Director General for Customs, and other officials. During his first tour, as a senior U.S. Defense Department official, he led the successful effort to gain Iraq Observer status at the World Trade Organization (WTO). In addition, he worked on problems importing food through the seaports and assessed armament factories for conversion to peacetime output. During his second tour, also with the Defense Department, he was a principal negotiator for Iraq of its $6 billion of aircraft and related procurements for the national airline. He also supported Iraq’s procurement of services to rehabilitate the seaports, cement industry, and other infrastructure and industry. During his third tour, with the State Department, he supported Iraq’s accession process for WTO membership, and trained Iraqi Customs managers on the application of WTO- and WCO-compliant customs laws. He received a citation for distinguished service presented by the Presidential Envoy to Iraq.

Robert Field is a nationally recognized expert in health care regulation and its role in implementing public policy. He holds a joint appointment as professor of health management and policy at Drexel’s Dornsife School of Public Health. He is also a lecturer in health care management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a senior fellow of Penn’s Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics.
Professor Field is the author of “Mother of Invention: How the Government Created ‘Free-Market’ Health Care,” published in 2013 by Oxford University Press, which presents a historical overview of government programs in creating and maintaining the health care system and places health reform in the context of an ongoing evolutionary process. He is also the author of “Health Care Regulation in America: Complexity, Confrontation and Compromise,” a comprehensive overview of health care regulation, also published by Oxford University Press.
His recent scholarly work has focused on health reform and its effects on the structure of the health care system, ethical issues in vaccines and policy implications of genetic databases. His work has appeared in the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, Villanova Law Review, the Drexel Law Review, Health Affairs, Vaccine and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He writes a blog for the Philadelphia Inquirer on health policy, entitled “The Field Clinic,” which features 14 prominent Philadelphia health care leaders as regular contributors.
Before joining the Drexel faculty, Professor Field founded and chaired the Department of Health Policy and Public Health at University of Sciences in Philadelphia, where he was also professor of health policy. Previously, he led business planning and development for the primary care network of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. He has also conducted health policy research at the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and the Center for Law and Health Sciences at Boston University, practiced health law with the Philadelphia firm of Ballard Spahr, LLP, and directed public policy research for Cigna Corporation.
Professor Field earned his JD at the Columbia University School of Law, where he was associate editor of the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law.

Mark A. Cohen has been in the retail business since his graduation from Columbia University in 1971. (MBA ’71, BS Electrical Engineering ’69) He has served over 33 years in the retail industry, 22 of which were in president and chairman/chief executive officer level positions. Most recently he was Chairman/CEO of Sears Canada Inc, Chief Marketing Officer and President of Softlines of Sears Roebuck & Co., Chairman/CEO of Bradlees Inc., and Chairman/CEO of Lazarus Department Stores. He has also held positions with Abraham & Strauss, The Gap, Lord & Taylor, Mervyn’s and Goldsmith’s Department Stores. He has been a Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business since 2006 and teaches courses in Retailing Leadership, Retail Fundamentals, and a Master Class in Creating a Retail Enterprise. He also serves as an independent consultant to both the retail and consumer products industry. He continues to provide media coverage on the industry to CNBC, Bloomberg, Fox Financial Network, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Women’s Wear Daily among other outlets.
Jacques deLisle’s research and teaching focus on contemporary Chinese law and politics, including: legal reform and its relationship to economic reform and political change in China, the international status of Taiwan and cross-Strait relations, China’s engagement with the international order, legal and political issues in Hong Kong under Chinese rule, and U.S.-China relations. His writings on these subjects appear in a variety of fora, including international relations journals, edited volumes of multidisciplinary scholarship, and Asian studies journals, as well as law reviews. DeLisle is also professor of political science, director of the Center for East Asian Studies at Penn, deputy director of the Center for the Study of Contemporary China and director of the Asia Program at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. He has served frequently as an expert witness on issues of P.R.C. law and government policies and is a consultant, lecturer and advisor to legal reform, development and education programs, primarily in China.

Scott E. Harrington, Ph.D. is the Alan B. Miller Professor in the Health Care Management and Insurance and Risk Management departments at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is an adjunct scholar for health policy at the American Enterprise Institute. A former President of both the American Risk and Insurance Association and the Risk Theory Society, he is a Co-Editor of the Journal of Risk and Insurance and has published widely on the economics and regulation of insurance. A frequent speaker on insurance markets, regulation, and public policy, he has conducted research, consulted, or served as an expert for many organizations. He has testified before the U.S. House and Senate and before numerous U.S. state legislative and administrative committees. Marshall W. Meyer is the Richard A. Sapp Professor of Management in the Wharton School, Professor of Sociology, and Associate Member of the Center for East Asian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Meyer has taught at Harvard University, Cornell University, the Riverside, Irvine, and Los Angeles campuses of the University of California, and Yale University, and has been a visiting professor in the Faculty of Business Administration at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University, and the School of Business and Management at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Meyer was also a Visiting Scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation in 1993-94.
Pinar Yildirim joined the Wharton School as an Assistant Professor of Marketing after completing her PhD in 2012. Pinar’s research can be categorized into three main streams: monetization of media platforms, politics in marketing, and advertising. She focuses on analytical modeling and in particular is interested in game theoretic models. Parallel to these interests, her current research focuses on two-sided networks, including innovation platforms, data markets, and social networks. Related to her interests of ‘political economy’ she is also conducting research on how beliefs about the role of government can be shaped. Professor Yildirim’s research appeared in top management and marketing journals including Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, and Journal of Marketing, and received various grants. Yildirim has industrial experience in consumer electronics and automotive sectors, at firms such as Fiat S.P.A and Renault S.A. She also conducted research in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline and PNC Bank, and currently she is conducting research in collaboration with the American Red Cross (with Wharton Customer Analytics Initiative grant) and Social Bicycles. Professor Yildirim earned her Ph.D. in Marketing & Business Economics from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. Kevin Werbach is a leading expert on the business, legal, and public policy implications of emerging technologies such as broadband, blockchain, and big data.
Werbach is Associate Professor of Legal Studies and Business Ethics at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and founder of Supernova Group, a technology consulting and events firm. A longtime thought leader in communications and internet policy, he served on the Obama Administration’s Presidential Transition Team, and later was an expert advisor on broadband issues at both the Federal Communications Commission and the US Department of Commerce. Barbara E. Kahn returned to The Wharton School in January 2011 to serve as the Patty and Jay H. Baker Professor of Marketing and the Director of the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center. Prior to rejoining Wharton, Barbara served for three and a half years as the Dean and Schein Family Chair Professor of Marketing at the School of Business Administration, University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida. While Dean at the University of Miami, she launched new global initiatives and academic programs, attracted top faculty from some of the world’s leading business schools to enhance the caliber of the school’s research and teaching, and established new partnerships with the business community. All of these initiatives helped the School rise significantly in the ratings. She also established the Global Business Forum at the University of Miami which brought over 1000 leading business executives and professionals to the campus.
Before becoming Dean at University of Miami, Barbara spent 17 years at The Wharton School as the Dorothy Silberberg Professor of Marketing. She was also Vice Dean and Director of the Wharton Undergraduate program. Barbara is an internationally recognized scholar on variety seeking, brand loyalty, retail assortment issues and patient decision-making whose research provides marketing managers with a better understanding of the consumer choice process. She has published more than 60 articles in leading academic journals. Between 1982 and 2006, she was the world’s seventh most published author of articles in the most prestigious marketing journals. She co-authored Grocery Revolution: The New Focus on the Consumer, a book that chronicled the dramatically changing supermarket industry and outlined how consumers make choices within the supermarket. In 2013, she published Global Brand Power: Leveraging Branding for Long-Term Growth.
Barbara has been elected president of the Association of Consumer Research, elected president of the Journal of Consumer Research Policy Board and selected as a Marketing Science Institute Trustee. She has been or is area editor at Marketing Science, and associate editor both at the Journal of Consumer Research and Journal of Marketing.
