Before joining Jimmy John’s at Chief Marketing Officer, John Shea was the managing director of Teneo Sports, where he worked with elite athletes, corporations and sports enterprises to provide a full range of sports related advisory services.

Prior to joining Teneo, John was the head of global markets for Gat orade. In this role, he was responsible for the brand’s global business efforts including strategic vision, brand management, consumer engagement, sports partnerships, and all aspects of growing the Gatorade brand outside of the U.S.

John worked at PepsiCo from 2003-2015, holding progressive brand management and sports marketing positions during that time. Most notably, he led Gatorade’s Sports Marketing Department for over four years, managing the brand’s global sports marketing portfolio, including all league, team and athlete partnerships and negotiations. He led the brand’s relationships with the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, ISC, college teams, and other sports organizations, as well as athletes including Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning, Serena Williams, Usain Bolt and many others. John also previously managed Gatorade’s new product innovation including the development and successful launch of the G Series and the brand’s evolution from Sports Drink to Sports Performance Nutrition.

John holds an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in marketing from Boston College. In 2014, he was a recipient of the SportsBusiness Journal Forty Under 40 Award and the Brand Innovators ’40 under 40′ Award.

Dr. Anna Paley is a Visiting Scholar in the Marketing and Logistics department at the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University. She completed her PhD at the Stern School of Business at New York University in 2017. She conducts research on consumer judgments and decisions across financial and health domains, with a particular focus on consumer well-being.
