Max is Co-Owner of Strategic Hospitality in Nashville, TN. Founded in 2006, Strategic Hospitality includes The Patterson House, The Catbird Seat, Merchants, Pinewood Social, Bastion, Henrietta Red, The Band Box, The Country Club at The Band Box, Airport Restaurant Concepts and most recently the Downtown Sporting Club. The company employs over 550 people across its venues.

Max sits on the board of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp, the Community Foundation, Oz Art and the Habitat for Humanity Advisory Council. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization, Entrepreneurs Organization, Urban Land Institute, as well a 2016 graduate from Leadership Nashville. Max has been recognized as one of Forbes 30 Under 30, Nashville Business Journal 40 Under 40, Nashville Business Journal Power 100 and has been nominated nine times and was a semi-finalist for the James Beard Awards for outstanding restaurateur 2015, 2016 and 2018.

Max enjoys anything involving the outdoors, specifically fly fishing, bone fishing, skiing, hunting, golfing, scuba diving and recently dove with Great White Sharks in Guadlupe Island. Max earned his BSBA in business management and economics from Denver University where he served as student body president. Max lives in Nashville with his better half Alice and their two French bulldogs Jolene and Onyx. He is a member of the 2019 Class of Henry Crown Fellows within the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.

Mehrdad Baghai

Chairman, Alchemy Growth; Co-Founder and CEO, High Resolves


Mehrdad is the Chairman of Alchemy Growth, a boutique strategy advisory firm advising large companies on their growth strategies. He specializes in disruptive strategy and designing organization architectures for rapid growth. He is an active investor in both the technology and private equity space collaborating with other institutions like the Macquarie Group. Mehrdad is a frequent lecturer on management theory especially in the growth strategy domain. He is co-author of the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller As One as well as international bestsellers The Alchemy of Growth and Granularity. He was a partner at McKinsey & Company where he co-led the worldwide Growth Practice. Mehrdad served a three-year term as an Executive Director of CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, with overarching responsibility for growth, investment and commercialization, where he spun out dozens of new technology companies. Mehrdad received a B.S.E. with highest honors from Princeton, an M.P.P. as a Kennedy Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a J.D. with high honors at Harvard Law School. Mehrdad is a Crown Fellow and winner of the John P. McNulty Prize at the Aspen Institute. In 2017, Mehrdad reduced his business interests to take over as Global CEO of High Resolves, a social venture which he co-founded with his wife Roya in 2005.
