Caleb Warren studies what makes consumers tick. His work predominantly investigates consumer responses to behaviors that part from the norm. Although people often respond negatively to abnormal behaviors, Warren looks at two potential positive responses: “that’s funny” and “that’s cool.” His other research explores how brands acquire symbolic meaning and how consumers pursue both immediate and long-term goals. Warren has presented and published his work in influential academic journals and conferences in marketing, psychology, and humor studies. He earned his PhD at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and has worked as research faculty at Bocconi University (Milan, Italy), Texas A&M University, and the University of Arizona.
