Caren Sinclair-Kay is the President of Dormify, a small space home decor ecommerce business. In her current position, Caren is responsible for the P&L and oversees sales, marketing, product development, merchandising, and the ecommerce platform. Since arriving a little over 1 year ago, the company has experienced double digit growth and Caren has diversified the offering from dorm decor to apartment living with the launch of APT.
Caren is a seasoned e-commerce and digital media executive and entrepreneur who has started three online businesses over the past 10 years. Prior to joining Dormify, Caren was the founder and CEO of Fresh From The Farm 365, an ecommerce site devoted to locally sourced, sustainable foods. Before starting Fresh From The Farm, Caren co-founded and was the CEO of DoodleDeals, a discovery and daily deal site for young moms. DoodleDeals was acquired by Plum District (Kleiner Perkins, General Catalyst, Comcast Ventures) after only 18 months. Her first venture, Red Jam Media, was a subscription commerce and digital media business and was ultimately acquired by Third Age, inc.
Caren caught the digital bug early in the dot-com boom when she joined two Cornell grads who started theglobe.com, a first generation social network. Caren also held senior management positions at Oxygen Media and Rodale. She began her career in Management Consulting.
Caren is an active advisor in the start-up community, lending her support and experience to DreamIt Ventures and companies such as: Greatist, Noom, Bare Snacks, Bluum, LOZO, Red Rover, and Kidz Central Station. She is also an Alumni interviewer for University of Pennsylvania. Caren is a judge for the Wharton Start Up Challenge, mentors students, and has been a guest lecturer for various Entrepreneurship courses.
Caren has a BS from Cornell University and a MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
